New Year's celebrations and fireworks on 31.12.2024

New Year's events, fireworks, and pyro and light show performances

Where can you see New Year's fireworks in Helsinki and the capital region? Or experience year-end pyro and light show performances? Family-friendly New Year's events, fireworks displays, and pyro and light art events are being organized on New Year's Eve, Tuesday 31.12.2024, at least in the following locations:

Espoo: Museum Play celebrates the new year on Monday 30.12.2024 and Tuesday 31.12.2024. Museum admission fee applies.

SÄILIÖ Junior - electronic music event at Tiivistin in Suvilahti on Tuesday 31.12.2024 from 18-20. Free admission.

Helsinki: Children's New Year and Skidit disco at Citizens' Square on Tuesday 31.12.2024 from 18–19. The event can also be seen on Yle Areena and Yle TV 1. Free admission.
The children's program is concluded with a children's own pyro show at Citizens' Square at 18.55*.
Kerava: New Year's fireworks at Kerava's Aurinkomäki on Tuesday 31.12.2024 at 18.
Sipoo: Family fireworks at Jokilaakso in Sipoo Nikkilä on Tuesday 31.12.2024 at 18.
Porvoo: Porvoo's New Year at Kokoniemi event park on Tuesday 31.12.2024 from 18-20. The event concludes with a pyro show at approximately 20.10*.
Espoo: Interactive video, sound and light show: Window to the Future*
A unique animated artwork projected onto the Espoo Cultural Centre wall will be shown from 18-21.45 every twenty minutes.

Espoo's New Year 2025 event at Espoo Cultural Centre starting at 17. The program includes at least a family-friendly Glow disco at Louhisali, Ruffle Army glitter tattoos at the cultural center lobby, hot dogs at Café Moll's hot dog kiosk, and meetings offered by the Snägäri art installation in exhibition space Ahjo and its surroundings. Visitors of all ages can capture the evening's magic in the 360° Panorama Photo Booth.
Riihimäki: New Year's fireworks at Riihimäki's Jokikylä (note the changed location) on Tuesday 31.12.2024 at 18.30.

New Year's fireworks in Nummela on Tuesday 31.12.2024 at 19.
Vantaa: Vantaa 50 - anniversary year culminates at Myyrmäki's Paalutori on New Year's Eve 31.12. from 18-20.15. Fireworks at Paalutori at 20.15.
Helsinki: Helsinki City New Year's pyro show from near Citizens' Square at midnight 00.*
Helsinki's New Year's celebration at Citizens' Square on Tuesday from 22.15-00. Performances include Mirella, Sara Siipola, Anssi Kela and Windows95man. Free admission.

*Events marked with * are not traditional fireworks, but pyro or light events for New Year's celebrations.

Unofficial fireworks in Helsinki

In many Helsinki neighborhoods, unofficial, resident-organized fireworks have also been held in previous years during the early evening and evening. More information can be found in your neighborhood's Facebook groups. For example, in the locations listed below, resident community gatherings have previously been organized and fireworks have been arranged for families around 18-20 o'clock.

Riihimäki Glows - light event 23.12.2024–9.1.2025.

Helsinki's parks and streets as well as buildings are illuminated to bring light to the darkness and Christmas atmosphere to the city. Keskuskatu's illuminated Christmas trees, lights and animal figures in Espa park, Aleksanterinkatu's Christmas street with Christmas lights and numerous Christmas lights and various Christmas decorations in and around many shopping centers delight small and large passersby.
