Töölönlahti Playground

Update July 2022: Unfortunately, the playground has worn over the years and some equipment is partially broken and the surface gives way significantly in many places. The issues have been reported to the city. The playground would also benefit from a comprehensive renovation and cleaning throughout.

The Töölönlahti playground next to Finlandia Hall could be described as a climbing park. This new playground, completed in summer 2016, consists mainly of various climbing frames and similar modern play equipment. The park is best suited for children over 5 years old, but of course younger children can also try some of the frames and climbing with adult supervision. Older children also enjoy this park.

The playground surface is soft throughout, and in sunny weather or strong winds conditions can be challenging—there are no shaded areas in this park. The play park is located in the middle of Töölönlahti Park, right near the shores of Töölönlahti, in the middle of busy pedestrian and cycling paths and large grass fields. The nearby Keskustatakirjasto Oodi library offers its own outdoor playground (also aimed at older children) in addition to indoor activities for children during opening hours.

Playground equipment:

  • Various climbing frames and climbing routes
  • Climbing walls
  • Monkey bars
  • Rotating swing
  • Walking carousel
  • Fitness equipment next to the playground, including ropes for hanging
Other:
  • Playground is not fenced
  • Modern park
  • Soft surface throughout the playground
  • Target group: older children from 5 years and up
