Would you like to get lost on new trails and discover something new? See Helsinki through different eyes? Take a turn in a different direction at a crossroads? Family City Trails are just for this! City trails take you to new neighborhoods, new places and help and inspire you to venture in your home city or visit new corners as a tourist. Family City Trails is a new type of travel concept for Helsinki neighborhoods, developed as a thesis by hospitality management student Heidi Säynätkari. The four city trails created as a thesis are now joined by new and different trails throughout the city.

Uutela Star Trail

When did you last see a starry sky? Would you go out on an adventure even though it's already dark? Uutela opens up an exciting Star Trail for the whole family, traveled in the light of a flashlight! Uutela Star Trail is a reflector trail conceived by Nature Moments Blog and Ursa, where you'll find interesting task stations and magical star constellation animals.

NOTE! Uutela Star Trail will be installed in the terrain on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

The kilometer-long Star Trail starts from the forest path next to Kahvila Kampela and ends at the Niemenpaja bonfire area (map link below). Reflective tape and reflective star constellation animals guide the trail to the task stations.

Uutela Star Trail will be installed in the terrain on December 1, 2019. The Star Trail is regularly maintained by volunteers—check the latest news on the event page before heading out on the trail. The Star Trail will remain in the terrain as long as it stays in good condition or until the end of January. Please report if you encounter vandalism or damage on the trail.

The Star Trail stations can be found throughout the winter on Pieni Helsinki's family city trails by clicking on the stars on the map.

Bring with you to the Star Trail:

- Flashlight or headlamp
