Events from the last week of April
What kid-friendly activities can you find in Helsinki? Where to go with small children on weekends? What can you do on a rainy day? Pienten Helsinki's weekly series looks for activity tips and suggests child-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The website targets preschool-aged children and families with children.
Where to go this week -article continues with a slightly modified concept. The article lists the week's event highlights and the week's most interesting activity tips. It also includes highlights from Pienten Helsinki's new articles and news. The site's future is still open, but we'll continue with this concept through spring.
NEW: Family City Routes
Over the coming months, Pienten Helsinki will be publishing a new urban tourism concept when catering student Heidi Säynätkari creates city routes for families in several Helsinki neighborhoods as her thesis project. We are now looking for interview subjects. Would you be willing to participate in a short interview about family tourism and help Heidi complete her work? Read Heidi's greetings and more information about the thesis project and city routes in Finnish and English. www.pientenhelsinki.fi/kaupunkipolut
Helsinki Families -group on Facebook is a place for discussion about families in Helsinki: daycare spaces, hobbies, transportation, everyday tips and ideas. Issues that families face in daily life. In the group you can celebrate but also raise concerns about family matters. The group is also a place to share news and announcements related to families' lives. You can join the group here.
Important citizen initiative! Pienten Helsinki exceptionally highlights an important citizen initiative on behalf of all small daycare children. Please sign the citizen initiative for more precise definition of early childhood education ratios. Read more here! Feel free to share the link :)
The article's cover photo from Suomenlinna's dry dock. During the last week of April, there's something interesting to see at Suomenlinna's dry dock, as traditional vessels that have been maintained over the winter get back to sea. This is worth experiencing! More information from the Suomenlinna Foundation's website.
