Looking forward to a new week of children's events

Updated 26.5.2018

What family-friendly activities can you find in Helsinki? Where to go with small children on weekends? What to do on a rainy day? Tiny Helsinki’s weekly series searches for activity tips and recommends child-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The target audience of the website includes children below school age and families with children.

Tiny Helsinki’s Where to go this week articles are published by Monday at the latest and offer tips on what’s happening in the city for families with children. The 21st article of Tiny Helsinki’s Where to go this week in 2018 is an overview of a May week: surprising children’s concerts, apple orchard blossoms, the opening of the summer theatre season and a peek inside the central library Oodi. The Lovely Helsinki event brings floral splendor to the city center, and the World Village festival takes over Kaisaniemi Park.

MLL Helsinki’s family cafés are also included in the event listings, but it’s always good to check the current information from the organizer’s website, as some family cafés will be closed for the summer.

Would you like to collaborate with Tiny Helsinki (commercially) or do you have a project or job where I could be of help? I welcome all ideas with open arms. Get in touch boldly ([email protected]) and let’s talk about new possibilities! Read more about this idea here.

Coming soon: Tiny Helsinki’s Summer in Helsinki series is already in the works! You can already peek at summer events in Helsinki here.

REQUEST: Criticism, compliments, comments and wishes: tell us what you think of Tiny Helsinki!

The cover image is from Suvila Bay, which is an interesting place through the eyes of little ones too.

We visited the amusement park in the afternoon during a May week with children, and there were no queues at the rides, very few people in the park but still plenty to marvel at and try, plus fun shows. Two children under five had a blast on the free rides (for example, the Egg Train is no longer there, but there was plenty of entertainment for our taste), climbed on the playground and were delighted by the commotion. Tiny Helsinki recommends having fun before the summer crowds!
