Activity ideas for children week 28
What fun activities for children can you find in Helsinki? Where to go with young children on weekends? What to do on a rainy day? Little Helsinki's weekly series searches for activity tips and recommends family-friendly places in Helsinki and the surrounding area. The target audience of the website is preschool-aged children and families with young children.Autumn week offers plenty of events and activity tips: Pii Poo’s Lego building event takes over the Messukeskus, Children’s detective festival at Kallio library, Oil Tank 468 opens its doors again, and Viiki research station invites you out to the countryside for a day. On weekdays, art clinics, napperkino, and family ball games bring fun activities to the week. Little Helsinki’s “Where to go this week” article suggests what’s happening around the city for families with preschool-aged children.
For an autumn outing: Little Helsinki’s previously published autumn day trip tips are relevant again: go on a picnic to the top of Kruununvuori, mushroom picking and to see horses at autumn Talosaar, or an early autumn adventure to Suomenlinna.
Library news: Libraries invite their friends to join Library Community to develop and brainstorm the library. Ski Community is also involved! Get to know Library Community and join here.
Updates on the website: Little Helsinki and site advertising. We are looking for ways to finance the website maintenance costs and are testing appropriate advertising for the site’s topic for the first time. If advertising space interests you, feel free to get in touch and I’ll tell you more (mari (a) pientenhelsinki.fi).
FEEDBACK: Criticism, praise, comments and feedback: tell us what you think of Little Helsinki! Or feel free to get in touch: share your wishes, tell us your opinion, give tips or even suggest collaboration! mari (a) pientenhelsinki.fi Article cover image from Kruununvuori lake in autumn 2017.

FOLLOW LITTLE HELSINKI
New: Little Helsinki as an app on your phone!
Little Helsinki now also works as a PWA app. You can install Little Helsinki on your Android or iPhone phone simply by opening the page in Chrome or Safari browser and selecting the share button to Add to home screen. A PWA app differs from a traditional app in that it doesn't need to be installed separately from the App Store or similar. In practice, the content is exactly the same as in the browser, but theoretically loads faster. Little Helsinki does not require registration to work now, and never will.
