Playpark Summer Meals 2024

Helsinki City's playpark summer meal tradition continues this summer as well. Free summer lunch is offered to children and young people under 16 years old in Helsinki City's open playparks. The playpark summer meals start this year on the first day of school holidays on June 3, 2024, and end on August 2, 2024. The 82nd playpark summer meal season begins on the first day of school holidays for schoolchildren. Helsinki offers free lunch to children and young people under 16 years old in open playparks on weekdays at 12 o'clock from June 3 to August 2, 2024 (summer meals are NOT organized at the Loru playpark in Oodi).

New! This summer, playpark meals are also organized in Vantaa!

You need to bring your own deep plate, eating utensils, and a drink to the playpark meals. The lunch menu features various soups and stews, so for example, your own packed bread is a good addition to lunch.

No advance registration is needed to participate in playpark meals, and lunch is available in all of Helsinki City's open playparks. It's a good idea to arrive early, as food is limited. Note that some playparks are closed for part or even the entire summer, so you should check the status of your local playpark from the summer activities map below.

Playparks open from July 1 to August 7, 2024:

Nurkka, Kipinäpuisto, Orava and Lehdokki

Playparks closed for the entire summer:

Santahamina, Kiiltotähti, Roihuvuori, Salpausselkä, Kesanto, Strömberg, Ruoholahti, Seppä, Sanna, Viiri, Kimmo, Filpus, Lampi, Rusthollari and Tapuli.
