Linnunrata Playground

Linnunradantie 8 Linnunrata Playground in Suutarila, right on the border between Helsinki and Vantaa, is a unique playground among others: during the summer it is home to sheep, chickens and rabbits. Update: In summer 2020, the City of Helsinki announced that the farm animal activities at Linnunrata Playground have ended due to a barn fire and no new barn will be built. Otherwise the playground is charming and relaxed: the so-called farm yard has trees that provide shade on hot days and create a nice atmosphere, while the lower yard is a play area with plenty of space to run around and ride scooters. The playground is extremely versatile: you'll find something to do and experience from infants to teenagers. The old playground buildings add to the atmosphere of the place. Indoor facilities and, for example, a microwave for warming up snacks are available when playground staff are on duty.

During the summer, Linnunrata’s lower yard has a shallow wading pool that gets deeper in the middle, so it’s not the best swimming spot for the littlest ones.

Linnunrata is located in the middle of a residential area and parking spaces are limited.
