Kalasatama Park Playground

Parrulaituri

Located in Kalasatama, just a short walk from Kalasatama Metro Station, you'll find one of Helsinki's newest playgrounds. In addition to playing, you can spot work machines and cranes and marvel at the construction of the new residential area.

Kalasatama Park playground is clearly aimed at older children, but younger ones will also find plenty to do here. You can climb on hills and mounds, and the low bars provide support. It’s quite different from traditional playgrounds. The playground is located in a fairly open area, at least for now. This is a great place to stop, for example on the way to Mustikkamaa and along the bike route. There’s a grassy area next to the playground for picnics.

Nearby the playground is Ihana Kahvila. On the Suvilahti side, the restaurant Lämpö serves breakfast and lunch, and there are a few restaurants at the Kalasatama waterfront. Isoisänsilta bridge leads to Mustikkamaa for outings and further to Korkeasaari.

Playground Equipment:

  • Sandbox
  • Climbing frame
  • Basket swing
  • Swings (regular and baby swings)
  • Mounds, hills and climbing bars
  • Gymnastics bars
  • Plenty of benches and chairs
Other Information:
  • The playground is not fully fenced
  • Urban views and plenty of cranes in the surroundings
  • New and modern playground, with surfaces mainly asphalt and partly padded
  • Skateboarding, scootering and cycling work great in this area
